 February 2-4: Stars Wars: The Last Jedi. Rated PG13. Rey develops her newly discovered abilities with the guidance of Luke Skywalker, who is unsettled by the strength of her powers.  February 3: Soup & Pie Supper, 5-7 pm, Champion Community Center, sponsored by Champion Jr. Women’s Club. Freewill donation will benefit community. Includes live music.

February 4. Super Bowl Party and 1st Chili Cookoff, 2 pm, VFW Post $4688, 416 Broadway. Bring your favorite chili for judging. The best chilis get prizes and bragging right. Corn bread, chips, cheese and toppings provided. See Facebook @post4688.

February 9. National Pizza Day. Can you guess: 1) The most popular pizza? 2) How many pizzas are sold in the US each year? 3) On average, how much pizza an American eats each year? 

Maybe you should share your pizza with someone, because….

February 9 is also National No One Eats Alone Day, which teaches everyone how to make friends at lunch, often the most difficult part of the school day. Created and organized by students. This video, “Be the One,” produced by Beyond Differences, will touch your heart.

February 9: Soup and Pie Supper, 5-7 pm, Zion Lutheran Church, 1305 Broadway. Soups include Chicken Noodle, Chili, Clam Chowder, Vegetable Beef. Adults $7, children 12 and under, $3.

February 9-11. MOVIE: Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle. Rated PG13. Four teenagers are sucked into a magical video game, and the only way they can escape is to work together to finish the game. Imperial Theatre. Friday-Saturday 7:30 pm. Sunday 7 pm. Phone 882-4368 to volunteer.

February 11: Baby Brenton Benefit Soup Social, 11 am to 2 pm, new 4-H building, Chase County Fairgrounds. Soups, desserts, silent auction. Raffle for 28 prize packages, one drawing per day through February. Raffle tickets are 1 for $5 or 5 for $20. Proceeds benefit infant son of Douglas and Sabre Wright, diagnosed with Lissencephaly. February 16. Do a Grouch a Favor Day. Do something nice for someone today and turn a frown upside down. (And don’t take it personally if someone does something nice for you! )
